NOVEMBER 7 2009 MELONG BAND RANGZEN CONCERT

Dear SF-RTYC Board Members,

On behalf of Melong, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support, your enthusiasm and your dedication not only towards our band Melong, but for the Tibetan cause in general. We believe that when the community supports Melong, they are actually supporting the Tibetan cause as well and it is imperative that we support each other in the community. Through our music we hope that we can raise awareness, inspire and make positive changes for our movement and our nation. One of the hardest things to do for smaller organization like ours is fundraise, and among the various different ways to fundraise the toughest one is usually to do a concert. Unless you have a very famous act to perform like the Beastie Boys, you generally end up not raising but spending all the funds you have. With the effort you all put in, i think we did manage to do quite ok as this was the first time you hosted such a event and also our first time performing in the bay area. We had a great time in the San Francisco and you were awesome hosts to all of us. We hope to continue this relationship with you in the future and we pray that one day very soon in the near future, we are able to host a Tibet is Free concert inside Tibet rather than a Free Tibet concert outside Tibet.
